Chase cover installation covers fitting or replacing the metal cover on top of a factory-built (prefabricated) chimney chase. It's a different component than a chimney cap, sealing the entire top of the enclosure rather than just the flue opening, and it's one of the first things to corrode on a metal chimney system.

Common Causes

Chase covers are thin metal by design, which makes them affordable but also the fastest-failing part of a prefabricated chimney system — humidity and standing water accelerate corrosion well before the rest of the system shows wear.

Our Process

We remove the deteriorated cover, check the chase framing underneath for any water damage, and fit a new cover sized and sealed properly to shed water away from the seams rather than pooling on top.

Humid and storm-prone climates corrode chase covers noticeably faster than drier ones, which is why this is one of the more common repair calls in Gulf Coast and coastal markets specifically — often well before the rest of the chimney system needs any attention.
